About Us

Norrie Moore Limited is a firm of solicitors providing a range of legal services to clients throughout Scotland. We strive to combine experience and knowledge with a modern outlook and a friendly, yet efficient service.

Local

Our modern offices are located within The Muirfield Business Centre, in the heart of Cumbernauld (just outside Glasgow). These facilities are just off the M80 motorway and offer ample car parking for clients.

Client Focused

We are ever mindful of the fact that no two clients are the same so we aim to provide a personal service with a professional approach.

Forward Thinking

We like to think that we do things a little differently from other more traditional firms. We operate a virtually paperless office in a bid to boost productivity whilst reducing our carbon footprint. We also embrace modern technology and methods of communications so as to suit the needs of our clients and to increase the speed at which transactions can progress.

Our Services

Residential Conveyancing

We fully understand that buying and selling a property isn’t just a legal transaction, it’s one of the most important decisions of your life.  That’s why we approach each case with the care and attention that you deserve. Moving house can be stressful, but the legal process doesn’t need to be.  We aim to minimise your stress by using our knowledge and experience to guide you through the process in as pain-free a manner as possible.  Communication is paramount so we will always ensure that you are kept well informed and updated throughout the process. As well as dealing with the sale and purchase of residential property, we also deal with remortgages, transfers of title, title disputes and all other aspects of conveyancing.

Commercial Conveyancing

We like to make your business our business.  We can assist with commercial leases, commercial property sales and acquisitions, development projects, etc.  We act for amateur property developers, large property investment companies and everything in between.

We also have experience of dealing with auction purchases, loan agreements and lease management documentation (such as Schedules of Dilapidations, Rent Review Memorandum and Sub-Leases / Assignations).

Power of Attorney

A Continuing & Welfare Power of Attorney (POA) is an incredibly useful legal document which should very much be thought of as a “safety net”.  By granting a POA, you will ensure that a trusted friend or relative will have the authority to make important financial or welfare decisions on your behalf in the event that you ever lose capacity to make such decisions for yourself.  Whilst a POA does tend to be promoted as something of benefit to elderly clients, we very much take the view that a POA should be considered by everyone no matter their age.  Without a POA, nobody (not even your spouse or next of kin) automatically has the authority to make financial or welfare decisions on your behalf.

Executries

The death of a loved one is never an easy time and speaking to lawyers may be the last thing you want to think about.  However, our professional and experienced approach means that you will always be treated with warmth and sensitivity as we guide you through the Confirmation process.  Unlike most other firms, we offer fixed fee Executry services, meaning you will know exactly how much the legal process will cost right from the outset.

We are also able to advise on Legal Rights claims (i.e. a spouse or child’s right to claim on an estate even where they have not been named as a beneficiary in a Will).

Wills

Many people put off making a Will.  In fact, over 50% of adults in the UK don’t have one.  There is never a good reason not to have a Will.  And with the fee for a basic Will starting at just £90 + VAT and a 100% contactless Wills service now being available, this simple task should not be put off any longer.

For the last few years we have proudly participated in Will Aid.  This is a special partnership between some solicitors and nine of the UK’s best-loved charities. Together we raise vital funds for wonderful causes, while ensuring that clients gain the reassurance of knowing they have a professionally written Will.  During Will Aid month each year (usually November) we can draw up a basic Will for clients without charging our usual fee.  Instead, we invite clients to make a voluntary donation to Will Aid.
